Overview

Project management is a core skill in facility management and is particularly important because of the wide range of projects assigned to the facility organization.

Projects can vary in scope, complexity, duration, and financial risk. Leading projects efficiently involves a comprehensive approach that encompasses initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing. Key objectives include:

  • Understanding project roles and responsibilities

  • Identifying and engaging stakeholders

  • Implementing effective risk management strategies

  • Delivering outcomes that align with organizational goals

Utilizing core project management processes and models within facility management contexts is essential for achieving success in these endeavors.
